From the President

Spring in Israel is a time we mark great transitions. Following Passover, comes Holocaust Memorial Day, in which we recall one of the greatest affronts to humanity in history. Out of this despair, we move a week later to honor Israel's fallen - those men and women who lost their lives in building and securing our sovereign state.
But at Technion, independence is more than a day, and more than all Israel's military victories. Every Technion scientist exploring the frontiers of his/her field, every step of technological and medical progress, every graduate and every innovation celebrates our independence. Welcome to the May 2011 issue of Technion LIVE. May we continue to create and enjoy our independence together.
